"Holding Onto You" by K.E. Taylor

"Logan Dale, slayer of panties; K.E. Taylor, slayer of hearts." - This comment was one of my initial reactions to Taylor's Burnt Ashes series, and if you thought Life After You and Snow Flakes were tickets to emotional rollercoasters, you ain't seen nothing yet as Holding Onto You will take your emotional wreckage to another level.

There is no one playing more heart-wrenchingly beautiful on broken strings than Logan Dale - so you better get ready to have your heartstrings strummed like they're his favorite e[motional]-guitar, 'cause things are about to get a lot darker before things can finally start to look brighter again in the Burnt Ashes universe... especially for McLogan (M(a)cLogan... get it?! - I feel like Trey Baker would approve!).

Life After You quite literally ended on a bang. Being thrown back into her teenage years where her memory is concerned, nothing is as Mackayla remembers it to be. Holding Onto You presents her with a clear slate, and with the chance to rediscover and reinvent herself should she be able to pull herself out the downward spiral caused by going through losing her family - and herself - all over again. But is Logan willing to let their relationship be collateral damage, willing to have it be all but forgotten? Will he accept being friendzoned, or will he be able to remind Kayla of all they used to be?

The second novel in the Burnt Ashes series is just as emotional as Life After You was, and if you loved the boys (and girls!) then, you will be absolutely enjoying Holding Onto You!

I cannot wait for the next installment in the series, and am dying for Trey Baker's spin-off novel, Muse!

Some people say you are defined by the choices you make and the company you keep. The only problem is that all of Kayla’s choices for the past eight years have been wiped clean in the matter of seconds. She is in an alien place surrounded by strangers. What’s worse, she isn’t even aware of all the things she has lost. With her journey of self-discovery slowly unfolding, how can she find time for anything or anyone else?

Sometimes things can get real pretty fast. Logan is faced with the realisation that if he is going to have Kayla for his own, he will have to fight a new fight he has never had to endure before. Can it be the perfect chance, after such a disastrous start, to retain the status quo?

"Keziah" by K.E. Taylor & Lee Taylor
♥ Cover Reveal ♥

"KEZIAH"
(Untouchable #1)
K.E. Taylor
Lee Taylor

Happy Cover Reveal Day, Mr. & Mrs. Taylor!
[layout subject to change according to final spine-width and blurb-design]

My grandmother had one dying wish... for me to return home.
Sounded simple enough, right?
However, I did have one problem. I didn't know where home was. All I had was a phone number, and a name.
Making that one phone call threw me into a world I never knew existed, into a marriage I never wanted... but I did what I had to do to survive.

My name was Keziah Costello, I had just turned eighteen... and I was the lost Mafia Princess.

[First draft. Unedited. Subject to change.]

I back up until my back hits the wall. I was shaking from fear, but the fear wasn't for myself, it was for the drunk sleaze before me.
"Please... don't touch me." I beg, my voice barely carrying over the music. I wasn't scared for myself, I was scared for him.
I tried again, "If you touch me, you'll die... They always die." I made sure to hold his gaze, my eyes begging him to see the truth. He doesn't. Instead he throws his head back and laughs.
"Nyx doesn't give a shit about you... If he did, you wouldn't be alone without your guards." He brings his hand up to my face, his finger gently stroking down my cheek before he grabs my chin roughly, tilting my face up to his.
"I'm sorry." I whisper, before he slams his lips against mine. I clamp my mouth closed, refusing him any kind of entry. He pulls back punching me hard across my face, white hot pain exploding behind my eye.
"Stupid little whore, you really think he cares about you, don't you?" He spits, before throwing me to the ground, "I'm going to enjoy breaking you." I turn onto my stomach, trying to crawl away from him as he roughly pushes me back down to the floor, his weight preventing my escape.
"Get. Your. Fucking. Hands. Off. My. Wife." I turn my head and see Nyx. His eyes are blazing, completely frozen on the man pinning me to the ground.
"Wife?"

"Muse" by K.E. Taylor
♥ Cover Revamp ♥

Back in February I posted the Muse Cover Reveal, sharing with you the looks of the novel that will be revolving around the playful Trey Baker. To make the book even more beautiful, the cover image has been resized and recropped, giving you an even better look at cover model Andrea Denver - the face and body of our beloved Trey, member of the band Burnt Ashes.

And, if I may please ask you to follow his v-lines up instead of down for a second... I know, it's so very, very hard ("That's what she said!" - "Shut up, Trey!")... you'll find a little tag line by yours truly! I was super stoked when K.E. Taylor asked me to tag yet another one of her books - it's so much fun, and it's exciting to see your own words on a book! <3

I can't wait to get my hands onto Andrea - I mean, Trey! Uh... the book! - it's going to look absolutely hot on the shelf!
Get ready for Trey's story, coming soon...

I fall in love with a different woman every night. Hell, sometimes I even fall in love twice in one night. My name’s Trey Baker, rock star and self-professed Casanova of the twenty-first century. I don’t do relationships. I don’t have to.
Until her.
Sure, I was warned to stay away from her and I tried my best…for almost five minutes. Scout’s honour. But when the forbidden fruit turns up at my door, begging to be plucked, how can I say no?

Cover-Reveal / Revamp
"Holding Onto You" by K.E. Taylor

As you might remember, I posted the initial cover reveal for the second installment in K.E. Taylor's Burnt Ashes series, Holding Onto You, back in March. However, due to formatting issues, Taylor has made the decision to change the cover of this upcoming release.

The new cover is definitely just as pretty as the first one, and reading the blurb will already hint on just why this version fits the story of Holding Onto You even more.

(And please keep reading to see why I am especially excited to share this cover with you!)

This cover is probably best described by saying "Meet Kayla, everyone!" (-;

And now on to what I am, if I am honest, even more excited about than sharing just the front of the book with y'all - take a look at the back (click the picture to enlarge), which is not only sporting the blurb (and its title on stage!), but also a tag line by yours truly!
I was stoked when K.E. Taylor asked me to write a tag line for her - it's amazing to see it on the book's jacket, and I can't wait to see it in print!

This is super exciting for me, and I feel honored to have been asked to provide a tag line for the book!

"Some people say you are defined by the choices you make and the company you keep. The only problem is that all of Kayla's choices for the past eight years have been wiped clean in the matter of seconds. She is in an alien place surrounded by strangers. Cover Revamp!
"Life After You" by K.E. Taylor

What are your thoughts on the newly revamped cover?
I absolutely love it!

K.E. Taylor's début novel's cover will now be matching its upcoming sequel, Holding Onto You, which is set for publication this June. Life After You's new cover instantly puts you into the rockstar romance mood, setting the story's atmosphere. In addition, the new prints will - as previously stated - now be color-matching Holding Onto You, which is sporting a pinkish-purpleish cover.

And, psssht... if you've already read Life After You... take a look at the female cover model's hair! It's even more obvious with the new background... isn't its transition from the cover of Life After You to the cover of Holding Onto You absolutely perfectly fitting the story?!

Don't remember what the cover of Holding Onto You will look like? - Don't worry - here you go!

Cover Reveal -
"Holding Onto You" by K.E. Taylor

HOLY SMOKES!
Not even a month after revealing the cover for her upcoming novel Muse, author K.E. Taylor shares with us yet another cover!

Brace yourselves - it is with great pleasure and excitement that I can share the cover to Holding Onto You, the Life After You sequel, with you!
Holding Onto You, the second installment in the Burnt Ashes Series, is scheduled for a June 13 release, and I'm dying to get my hands onto it! The cliffhanger at the end of Life After You had me wanting more, more, MORE and I cannot wait to see how Kayla's and Logan's story continues!

You can read my review of Life After You here, and my review of the Burnt Ashes novella, Snow Flakeshere.

But without further ado... HERE IT IS!

Isn't it absolutely beautiful?!
I love the color scheme and think it's just overall gorgeous! The perfect cover for a rockstar romance, don't you think?! - And the covermodels match the descriptions in Life After You enough to actually give the characters a face; don't you love when that happens?

"Some people say you are defined by the choices you make and the company you keep. Happy Cover Reveal Day!
K.E. Taylor - EXCLUSIVE

In honor of the cover reveal of her upcoming novel Muse, part of the Burnt Ashes series, K. E. Taylor took the time to sit down with us to answer a few questions.
[Some of the answers might contain spoilers if you have not yet finished readiing Life After You!]

.{ ink.eaters }.: The cover of Muse, sporting the wonderful Andrea Denver, is sort of like casting couch news - it is giving Trey Baker a face, a body, and, if one was to watch Andrea's videos, basically also a voice (including a killer accent). How did you come to pick Andrea, and who would be your top picks for the other boys, including Braden? And how about Kayla?

K.E. Taylor: I actually came across Andrea on my Facebook home page. One of my friends (I really wish I knew who, so I could thank them!) posted a picture of him and after staring at him for a few minutes, I typed his name into Google. As soon as I saw his pictures I knew he was the face of Trey. I continued my little search on him (You can call it stalking if you like!) and found his Facebook fan page. It was actually New Year’s Eve when I first contacted him, I remember thinking it’s a long shot and he’s not going to be anywhere near his Facebook right now, but I had to ask if it was something he’d be interested in. He messaged me back the same day and voila! I’m actually really lucky because he deals with me personally, so I run a lot of stuff past him… When it came to having the cover of Muse created we spoke about what we liked and what we didn’t like, it’s been great having him involved, he’s lovely.
As for the other boys in Burnt Ashes - that is a tough question. Logan, for me, is a cross between Enrique Iglesias and Nick Bateman… Sam would be a younger version of Vin Diesel, I think I referenced that in my Snow Flakes novella, or was that Uncle Fester? Chace I picture as Brock Hurn with all of his gorgeous hair… And Braden I picture as Matt Lanter. Kayla was an easy choice for me, I had her pictured before I even began writing as Candice Accola.

.{ ink.eaters }.: Holding Onto You, the sequel to Life After You, will also be released this year. Is there anything you want, or can, already share about it?

K.E. Taylor: I can tell you that their story is far from over… Kayla is obviously going to be struggling with the fact, she has lost the last eight years of her memories. She is going to have to face, once again, that her entire family is gone, that she is alone in the world. Kayla can remember the Logan from eight years ago, not the pretty, sinful package that is now. He intimidates her, but at the same time she is drawn to him. It’s going to be really hard for the both of them to adjust.

.{ ink.eaters }.: What are your future plans for the other members of Burnt Ashes? The main-focus in Life After You is on Logan, and Muse will be on Trey... will every member get his spotlight novel?

K.E. Taylor: Eventually, yes, I would like to do a story for each of the boys. I’ve had requests for Braden to have his own story since he was alive in Snow Flakes, and Braden’s story, I feel, really does need to be told. I think it’s great that the boys have their own fans, and I absolutely love it when I get messages saying that they’re ‪#‎TeamLogan‬ or ‪#‎TeamTrey‬ etc… I get asked a lot what team I’m on, and my answer is always the same. I’m ‪#‎TeamBurntAshes‬.

.{ ink.eaters }.: What is your writing routine like? Do you have any special rituals?

K.E. Taylor: I don’t have any specific routine. I write as and when I can. I do, however, have a ritual. I have to have music on. I have a set playlist for each character. If I’m writing a sad scene, I’ll put on the saddest music I can find and lose myself in the song… I do that a lot to get myself in the right frame of mind that I need to be in.

.{ ink.eaters }.: Last but not least... Since your new book's title is Muse, I'm almost obligated to ask: Where did the idea for a rock-star-romance-series come from? Who, or what, has been your Muse along the way?

K.E. Taylor: My favourite genre to read for a while was rock-star romance. I’ve always been an avid reader and I’ve always enjoyed writing, even in school. After reading so many rock-star novels, I got the idea for Life After You and set myself the challenge of writing my own book. Nine months later, my book was released and the love and support I received literally blew me away. Everything happened really fast for me. It’s been a crazy emotional ride, but I am loving every moment of it.

Thank you for having taken the time, Mrs Taylor!

Move-In Day Introductions

Hey y'all (:

I thought I'd do a rather quick and random post to introduce the newest additions to my bookshelf to you - some of these I've acquired as early as December, some of them as late as early February, but this seemed like a fun little thing to blog about. I will also do my best to include any "new" additions to my kindle - but I have been rather awful at keeping track of those. I shall do a better job in the future (;

Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher has been my latest purchase and is the book I am currently reading. I know I included it in my recent "currently reading" post and normally I would already be done with it - it's really hard to put this read down! - but I have been battling the flu for about two weeks now. Sick equals lots of time to read you'd think, but... when you have to reread each sentence seven times because you can't focus on anything, it doesn't do you any good.

Can't wait to share my thoughts on this one though!

You can find Never Never on amazon by clicking here.

Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover is one of my most favorite novellas. Ever. Which is why my sister got me a paperback copy for Christmas - I am one of those people who actually prefer physical copies but will definitely read both.

I have recently reread this gem and have posted a little review.

Go here to get a copy of Finding Cinderella.

Yes, I know what you're thinking: more by Colleen Hoover?!
As you might or might not have already noticed, I just looooove her writing! Which is why I treated myself to paperback copies of her novels Slammed and Point of Retreat when I found them on sale. I was a little bummed when I received that version of Slammed rather than the one that had been advertised, the one matching the Point of Retreat one - the U.S. one - buuuut... the story's the same, so who am I to complain?

Follow the following links to find Slammed and Point of Retreat on amazon.

Looking for Alaska by John Green is another one of the books that I mentioned in my recent "currently reading" post. I am just about done with it and cannot wait to talk about it!

Find Looking for Alaska on amazon.

The Mortal Instruments, Book Two - City of Ashes - by Cassandra Clare. Two years ago, by brother had gotten me the first book in the series for Christmas - and since I still hadn't purchased book two by last Christmas, he got it for me. (:
I am looking forward to diving back into the world of The Mortal Instruments - and who knows? My brother might turn this into a gifting-tradition until I own the full series! (;

Go here to purchase your copy on amazon.

Ben Elton's Dead Famous - the reason why I purchased this might actually make you laugh. Excerpts from this book were part of my English final last fall. They made it sound like a really interesting story, so I went and looked for the book online - and came across rebuy, an online store selling, amonst other things, used books. I paid 0,99€ for it, rather than the 11,57€ it would have been on other pages. And guess what? -  The book looks like it has never been read before.

Get Dead Famous on amazon.

While I was living in Hamburg (Germany) to complete my finals, I had several flatmates. One of them was Stefan (hi, Stefan!), who was, at the time we were living together, reading The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson. I have to yet start reading it, but Stefan kept recommending, so I just couldn't say no while I was browsing rebuy - and got it for just 2,29€.

Find The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared on amazon.

Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad - my motivation for this purchase was a quote I had read somewhere while researching something... I shall share it once I have stumbled across in the book! (;

Heart of Darkness was another one of my rebuy-purchases - at just 0,99€.

Find it on amazon.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

I have not seen the movie, but this book was recommended to me by a fellow applicant at a job interview. She seemed to really like it, and once I had stumbled across it on my rebuy spree for just 1,59€, I figured I should give it a read!

Find Gone Girl on amazon.

the short second life of bree tanner by Stephenie Meyer

Like many, I was a huge fan of the Twilight series years ago - but I haven't reopened the books in what feels like forever. Yet, I just couldn't not get this novella at just 0,99€ (rebuy - again! - it will be the death of my savings!), because I am one of those people who want to finish a series once they've started it, and this is the only one of the books I haven't read yet.

Get it on amazon.

Blank books!
I got these three pretties for Christmas, to put down my own words. I just love writing, so these come in very handy! Nothing to review there, obviously, but I loved the designs so much I just wanted to share them with you.

Debt Inheritance (Indebted Book 1) by Pepper Winters (which is currently FREE on amazon!)
This book has really bad reviews on amazon, but a facebook friend of mine recommended it, so I figured I might as well give it a try despite the reviews on amazon - it was, after all, free - so no loss either way!
