"A Sudden Crush" by Camilla Isley

A Sudden Crush by Camilla Isley is the adult fairytale you didn't know you'd been waiting for; it's like having your favorite Disney princess finding herself in the best episode of Lost, all wrapped in some Robinson Crusoe and sprinkled with some Jungle Book and a lot of fairy dust. It is safe to say that Camilla Isley is most definitely romantic comedy royalty. Her writing is catchy and even in the story's most dire moments, you will find yourself wiping away tears of laughter.

While I have to admit that I, at times, really had trouble bonding with the novel's characters, I can't deny that it strangely enough didn't bother me at all to not be clicking with the main characters on an all too emotional level. Why? - Easy. Because the story itself was so well written and playing out like a movie in front of my eyes, I didn't need to have the hots for the leading man, or bff-status with the female protagonist, to be enjoying it. A Sudden Crush just is the kind of book that you pick up, immediately enjoy and don't want to put down, because it can entertain you for hours. And it will have you wanting a pet-monkey!

A Sudden Crush is an overall great read, which you should definitely be adding to your summer reading list!
(Okay, yes, I did read it in January/February and it was a great read to keep me warm while cuddled up in bed, sick, but this really would be a great beach-read! Not that you can't read it any time of the year! ;-) )
